How much does Sky Pod cost?
Sky Pod is currently only available to VodafoneTV customers to ensure they can continue to access their Sky content when the VodafoneTV service closes on 31 October .

We will be looking to make Sky Pod available to existing Sky TV customers in the future and will confirm the one-off price for the use of the Sky Pod then. The one-off price for the use of the Sky Pod whilst you are subscribed to at least Sky Starter is non-refundable. Your subscriptions to Sky TV content and streaming apps are additional to the one-off price for the Sky Pod .

Pretty shocking that the STB is so delayed that Sky have to offer VTV customers a chromecast to try to bridge the gap (even though Vodafone generously gave Sky an extension).

Pod is using Android TV 11

Box is only Android TV 10

Sky box is made in Shenzhen China by SEI Robotics

Gimme dat spy ware with my sub!

Mysterion

Look at all the crap this company makes

https://twitter.com/SEIRobotics

I swear the new Sky box is already out of date.

Most units will end up in landfill by 2025. Just like VTV boxes now!

Mysterion

Correction: Looks like Sky Pod is made in China but Sky box is made in South Korea

Mysterion

The GPU and CPU of the new Sky Box have already been discounted. Released date was early 2019.

Next year is 2024. Tech would be 5 years old by then!!

Yes, all of the above...and also pretty average for VTV Sky Subs given you cannot record.

I suspect this product will be very unpopular.

They need to get a move on and release the STB. Last update from Sophie was way back on 13 July. More than two months have rolled by and still no announcement on the release date.

The box is probably buggy as hell and it's taking longer to fix the issues. They will keep blaming chip shortages, but I don't think that is the full story.

Sorry peeps, we can't get our act together so here...take this chromecast, I mean Sky pod, and that'll do ya.

Old Sky box is better for most customers. Does the job.

Pod OK for some customers who just have SSN sub and want to use it for football season then throw it away.

New Sky Box OK for old VTV customers. But most would be better off going freeview plus netflix sub. Maybe sub for SSN during rugby season etc.

Only one addition for the last comment.

New Sky Box OK for old VTV customers who have Sky TV package subs. If they just had VTV for Freeview + apps then yes a smarvu box or something would do them fine I think.

It's the VTV subs that have Sky TV...they would actually be better off on the ne Sky Box because it will have better features (overall) and a slicker UI.

The vast majority of VTV box users did not subscribe to Sky though. There are likely only a 'few thousand' customers with Sky content that are hanging out for a new solution.

Just like Sky Broadband. A complete waste of time!
