Depleted uranium may pose a risk to both soldiers and local civilian populations. When ammunition made from depleted uranium strikes a target, the uranium turns into dust that is inhaled by soldiers near the explosion site. The wind then carries dust to surrounding areas, polluting local water and agriculture.

I was not saying it is zero risk. I was saying it is a far cry from the Chernobyl incident (which radioactively polluted large parts of Western Europe) and did harm a lot of people.

You might as well notice the word "might" in the UN report. Not yet proven.

Look - everybody is welcome to add here their personal views, but before one calls somebody's posts "completely wrong" I suggest you first do some research and thinking.

This new policy is Winston's ace in the hole policy announcement  when he gets into the buzzy hive..

Seriously probably need a fleet replacement for sure... just which of the many new designs.. The Japanese have a good new ship but value for money the South Koreans also make good ships..

Given todays government policies we only can accept handcrafted wakas for the navy! Maybe if we negotiate well enough we can get a handful of patus for free thrown in ...
