Washington Post columnists share their predictions regarding China's economic decline.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/08/18/china-economy-deflation-debt-analysis/

The latest news from China is ominous. A range of indicators suggests that Beijing is facing economic headwinds. Growth has failed to meet expectations. Foreign investment is sagging. The crucial housing market is soft. Companies and government institutions are struggling under mounds of debt. On Thursday, the giant property developer China Evergrande filed for bankruptcy. On top of all this comes news that the economy has entered deflation — raising fears of a downward spiral of the type that crippled mighty Japan in the 1990s. What does it all mean? We asked our columnists.

You have to wonder why any Party in this country would have RED as their color and Labour in the name... change it to Purple and change the name to something else!!!!

They need to change the colour at least. Think they will have plenty of time on their hands after the election.

For some countries its now obvious the UN was just a quicker way of controlling other countries... but really  that its powerless and in the end it cant stop anything.

https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/election-2023-labour-launches-financial-literacy-in-schools-policy/XL6WVS5CCJGZHHZNEEVOQWCJIM/

We learned this stuff (financial literacy) 50 years ago in school. The called it "economics" back in Germany. Interest rates, company structures, share holdings, bonds, investment strategies, debts.

50 years later both big NZ parties agree that it would be a good idea to teach this as well in NZ. Amazing - it took them only half a century to test this idea for the specific New Zealand conditions ;

If we keep up this pace ... one day we might be first under the sun - hey, we are only two generations behind Europe, how hard can it be?
