Well, yes ... I would not expect Putler to openly attack the whole of Europe within the next year or so ...

But he is using various throngs of attack. Open attack is only one of them. As we've seen in Uke - the level below is

... Infiltration through unflagged troops. They did fight in the Eastern parts of Uke, and they fight as well in Moldova.

He is as well unlikely to run a full attack against NATO, but ... what about him e.g. taking a corridor out of Luthiania to get a land connection with Kalinigrad and to test Natos resolve?

And, of course, he is relentlessly attacking the West by promoting fake news, supporting any extreme right wing politicians and ideas and that way splitting the Western democracies. He was successful in the US (tumbling towards an authoritarian state), in Hungary and, as it looks like now as well in Poland, and there are as well other former Russian satellites just eating out of Putlers hand (like Serbia).

Putler does not need the firepower to full on attack the West. The idiocy of our populists does the job for him, no need for a modern airforce.

Apart from that - not sure, how many spare parts and ammunition the West would have for its fighterjets and bombers. Remember, how long it took them to even get some ammunition for the Gepard?

Wondering as well, how good US airplanes are protected against drone attacks on the ground. They have plenty of planes in hostile territory - lets hope they are able to learn from Russias mistakes.
