I suspect that the mid 2022 lunched date of the new Sky Box was to co inside with the release of house of dragon and allow enough time for the VTV change over.

Maybe 2Degrees will follow Telstra and take a stake in a TV business or merge with them after all.

That's the only way to save Sky Broadband! Essentially just turn Sky Broadband into 2Degrees or merge 2Degrees into Sky.

The $150m of cash that Sky has might just go straight into the owners of 2Degrees. With a massive placement / IPO.

It's possible that 2Degrees could sell off their mobile towers to a Canadian pension fund as well and unlock a huge amount of equity.

Not sure how many sites 2Degrees have or how much it would be worth but looking at the link below it seems like they 2178 access points??? Can anyone confirm this?

The 2Degrees TV ads said they spend $1B on infrastructure.

If they can sell that off then maybe Sky can merge with Vocus and the slimmed down 2Degrees.

Seems like a logical move.

Likely Spark just gave up rather than Sky over bidding.

If that is the case it makes getting the customer service problem solved an absolute priority. All very well and good paying whatever ransom to secure the rights but people need to be able to call up and purchase it!

I won't be surprised if satellite sub losses accelerate but I don't see how they can plunge too badly without making sky miss guidance, maybe if the plunge began in the last month or two. But even if they were declining rapidly, would that not be considered a material event that warrants an announcement?
