"Macleod said former Sky chief executive John Fellet offered to drive round with a Sky box personally five years ago when she used an email address that her partner had through work to contact him."

Bring back Fellet

"I have had same problem for my mother who has early stage dementia had to wait 8 weeks to get internet and sky tv after the Vodafone thing .I told sky I needed it done fast as i want to keep mum using her emails and stuff so she will not forget how to do it. They have no care at all, would have spent maybe 6 hours on the phone."

"Ponsonby builder Mike Rippin said his partner had been unable to contact Sky to reconnect a rugby package, describing its service as "diabolical". He said he resorted to driving to Sky's Mt Wellington headquarters about two weeks ago and found a queue of irate, elderly customers seeking help with Sky apps."

The sooner someone takes sky over to instal a new leadership team and sort out these issues the better.

Sky won't be around much longer if they keep doing stupid shite.

Identify the problem (slow response) then get a solution (more csr needed). Imo it is better to have too many CSRs than not enough as how much business is lost from those potential customers get frustrated and give up. I would say that the silver lining is that Sky has new business coming out of their ears so hopefully they can sign up as many as they can asap

The most frustrating thing about this is that customer service people are not that expensive, especially when outsourced to poorer nations. Why on earth would they skimp out on this, sure fire why to agitate existing and new customers especially older more valuable customers who are likely to have thinner patience. Just makes me so mad, and reinforces my belief that the board are actually more competent than the average sky decision maker... which is scary. The only way this can be spun as positive for the share price is if A: people actually don't mind waiting hours, or B: a takeover is underway and so they are getting lazy.

Doesnt it go to show that if callers are waiting there is a queue of people waiting for service. Excess demand I suppose

Depends if your glass half full or not, glass half empty is they sacked too many customer service agents to cut costs  :o

The likes of Jeff Wilson at the rugby is a money wasted .....better putting that resource into customer services.

Another waste of money is using NZ commentators for Warriors games when they could get a better job hooking into Aussie ones on Fox who whoever.

No surprise that customer service has deteriorated so badly give virtually all the execs are now based in the swanky new CBD office while the worker bees are in Mt Wellington (or working from home).

Just an absolute shambles really.

Just face it bro, Sky Broadband is a massive failure and is a money pit.

It's too competitive and it's stuffed up their customer service.

They need to close Sky Broadband and move all customer back to Vocus!
