0-100 in under 3 seconds.  Too quick for a fat Beagle, (probably kill myself) but you'd be alright with your go hard or go home approach.

Yes, but lets face it - who is in the second half of the 3rd quarter really still worrying about a slow second quarter?

No point trying to read the tealeaves by firmly focussing on the rear mirror of yesteryear. Much better to look forward and prepare for the inevitable upswing. Spring is in the air.

Guru Mike Hosking knows everything and always right ...he agrees with you mate

So what is this intangible? It's the vibe. The vibe is important and in this case, it's driven by a desire to see better days, the same way we talked ourselves into a funk these past couple of years. And why wouldn't we? There was a lot to be in a funk about, and there still is.

But human nature generally wants us to be happy, to have hope.

So we look for indicators - the Reserve Bank and headlines like "light at the end of the tunnel", your mate that says, "what the hell, let's go out for dinner tonight" or "what the hell let's go away for the weekend any way". That's the vibe.

It doesn't take a lot, and no, it doesn't happen overnight. It happens gradually. But we are herd-like. You see one, then another, then you want to be part of it.

If you mark this day as the start, by early December remember this day and compare it to then. You'll be surprised at the transformation.

Because I am convinced the transformation is underway.

"took 10 years for the retail shopper to recover fully from 2008"

What do you mean by this? Pretty sure the average retail shopper was in far better shape than 2008 long before 2018...?

Waltzing

did not feel like the market Sp's reached a peak  till well after 2015 and seemed to reach a high level of purchasing power in 2017-2019 perhaps reflected in the public retail spending freely and also spending up on over seas travel..

SP's of retail and travel stocks seems to reach highs 10 years after 2008.

also called the great expansion ..
