I have signed up for a class action against the directors of Arrium. You can do it online by email as you can't use the online portal as the smarts forgot to add NZ to the form.

Good luck with that.

We signed up for a class action in 2004.  The resulting cheques dribbled in until the final one in 2016.

Although about 70% was returned, inflation and reduced confidence in my investment decisions were a major hurdle.

However, I learnt a lot about my own investment style, i.e. not as smart as I thought I was.  It turned out to be a good lesson.

You did well getting 70 percent back. Unfortunately for me it was a very, very large loss. A case of dollar cost averaging gone wrong. Did I learn anything? Yes I did. I don't back the truck up and have a limit on a stock. I still dollar cost average and over all it's worked well for me. However if a stock disappoints and I have lost confidence in the stock I will take a loss and move on quickly which is hard to do. Bad news often continues. Capital preservation is key.
