Hello fellow StockTalkers

Myself and Basil will be co-hosting another legendary session for fellow StockTalk members to catch up and have a good yarn over lunch and a few drinks in the afternoon.  We hope you will come along and put some faces to the names.  Don't be shy, I promise that Basil doesnt bite  ;D

When:  Friday the 6th of December.  Clear the afternoon in your diaries folks.  It'll be a long one, probably lasting well into the evening .....

Where:  Venue to be determined but likely somewhere along the Viaduct Harbour.  Hopefully any venue chosen will still be in operation come December  :o

Please comment below if you can attend, so we can get an idea of numbers to book for.

See you in December

Don't drink and buy shares in a downtrend, you bloody idiot.

oops, sorry I posted the wrong date.  It was meant to be 6th December.  Sorry for the confusion, the invitation has been corrected.

Thanks for posting that invite KW.

Awesome that you're making the trip up from Christchurch and I'm really looking forward to seeing you again.

It will be great to see some of the regulars at this event as well as some new folks.  If you've never been to one of these get-togethers before, you are very warmly invited so please, it would be great to see some new faces so come along and meet some new people and have a great time.  There is even a rumour that some dog has a very fancy launch and if you give him a pat, (he really doesn't bite even though he barks loudly sometimes lol), and he likes you, you might get an invite out for a BBQ  boat trip on the Hauraki Gulf on Sunday 8th.  Just a rumour, but you never know, it might be true.  ;)

Alekhine

I am keen. It has been great the last few years, even though I am not a fan of oysters.

Just giving this thread a bump so you can diarize this for next month.  I know there was a recent event there and a lot of fun had by all, that some of us, myself included couldn't make it too, so this is a further opportunity to come along and have some fun and reflect on the year that 2024 was and debate the best investments for outperformance in 2025.  The hound has a secret tip, potentially market moving (not shared on here before), to be shared on the day for those attending.  You have to be there in person to hear it.  Naturally I have positioned myself already lol.

Yes I will be there. I like bits n tips. I also have a funny story to tell, but only for attending ears. The oysters were big and delicious at the ST meeting.

Change of Venue folks - due to Basil forgetting to book Oyster & Chop.

1pm at Headquarters on the Viaduct.  See you all there. Then we can try Oyster & Chop after 3pm for their oyster happy hour - or head elsewhere .....

To be fair, I have been absolutely smashed this week with work and only just thought about numbers and then scrambled to find another venue which wasn't easy due to the time of year, being a Friday and fine weather forecast.
Here's a link to the new venue website  https://hqviaduct.co.nz/
Please note. Oyster and Chop happy hour bar area is only a quarter the size of normal due to a private function in the oyster bar deck area that day so kicking on there afterwards may not be a super great idea as it will be absolutely chock a block.

Thanks Basil, it is only about 50 meters west of O&C. See you there.

That's good, we can squeeze our way into O&C at 3.00 p.m. and scoff some cheap oysters then.    Catch you tomorrow mate.
