The hottest stock in the world - and no thread!? Soon fix that!

Genius-level stock picking:

"This surely must be the most undervalued stock on the Nasdaq. Sitting today at $151.59, just off its 52-week low of $148.62. Sold down mercilessly, and after a great quarter. What do these sellers know outside of what should be priced in already?"--Azz (1 July 2022)

And this stock is so undervalued NOW it's crazy. For those able to look forward it's insanely cheap.

Buzz

Well done Azz, you were right, WAY right!! What an incredible success, and I see they just released the new chip. Boom.

What's your SP target, it's already moon shot.
Age is not a good measure of ability

Azz

Hey Buzz. Thanks! SP target is a little murky for me, as I'm super long-term hold on this one (the end point is hard to define). And also the target I came up with for two years from now could be seen by some as outlandish. One thing people seem to be missing these days is that a trillion dollars ain't what it used to be - ie, inflation raises stock prices over time just like anything else. Add in cornering the market in A.I., and I've got a two year SP target of US$2,625.

It wouldn't surprise me if this stock splits soon. So when it does split, we'll have to remember that it has and apply its effect on pre-split share prices shown in this thread!

One of the issues for realization of "Stargate" and/or functional AGI is Sam Altman - he's a slippery eel and many of his pronouncements are highly suspect.

No matter what, Nvidia benefits.

Immense corporate welfare for TSMC (and therefore indirectly for Nvidia as well) announced. Whether a single chip ever gets manufactured is another story. Intel is getting a stack of money too.

Pretty funny seeing as US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen just lectured her Chinese hosts on their need to stop subsidizing factory output, specifically for electric cars and solar panels.

---------------------------------------

The Biden administration said Monday it plans to send up to $6.6 billion in federal grants to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM) as the chipmaking giant promises a $25 billion Arizona expansion that will bring a third TSMC fabrication plant to that state.

The deal, the second major US chipmaking grant announcement of the last three weeks, is part of President Joe Biden's effort to restart advanced semiconductor manufacturing in the US.

In March Biden said the US would provide up to $8.5 billion in grants in the years ahead to Intel (INTC) to support a range of new projects in Arizona, Ohio, New Mexico, and Oregon.

The money for both companies is coming from 2022's CHIPs and Science law, a signature accomplishment of Biden's current term.

TSMC will use the grants to fund the continued construction of two manufacturing plants already being built in the Phoenix area. The company also announced Monday it would build a third facility there in the years ahead.

The goal is for all three plants to be online and producing TSMC's most advanced chips by the end of the decade. Some of the plants even hope to use a forthcoming 2-nanometer fabrication process and make even more advanced chips than are currently available.

"These are the chips that underpin all artificial intelligence and they are the chips that are necessary components for the technology that we need to underpin our economy," Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told reporters ahead of the announcement.

The $6.6 billion in grants to be doled out in the years ahead include an allotment of $50 million for workforce development as well as additional authorization for up to $5 billion in government loans. That inflow comes in addition to manufacturing tax credits in the 2022 law that could be worth additional billions.

The government money will pair with TSMC's plans to invest over $65 billion in its Arizona operations. It had previously announced $40 billion and said today it would add an additional $25 billion largely to fund construction of the third fabrication facility.

If I am correct WB made a great mistake by selling TSMC last year. I lost interest on this stock after this selling but still I'am happy as I was able to park funds in a better place.

Yeh share price for TSMC has doubled since he sold his stake lol. Good ol' sage Buffett eh... To be fair, he was worried about Taiwan's location and China's covetous behavior, rather than any negative on the company itself. I have this same China issue as a risk for Nvidia (via TSMC) but my way of dealing with it is to hold and hope for the best.

IMO After the correction another opportunity is coming?
