Clearly - not good for the climate, but given the Russians would have burned the oil anyway in order to steal some more land and kill more innocent people, good on whoever caused this fire ...

Absolutely - I still remember my fathers tales about the Russian soldiers living and fighting during WW II mainly of a diet of garlic cloves and sugar cubes. Well, I suppose they still had their Kalashnikovs and Machorkas, but otherwise - frugal like the IS, and not to stop by corruption, political incompetence and rotten equipment.

Rough times ahead.

I am sure military budgets will rise - all around the world. Investing into the so called defense industry feels currently like shooting fish in a barrel, though I do see the risk of investing into outdated technologies.

The thing is - I am not so sure super expensive tanks, fighters and rocketsystems will win the next war. It might be just an investment into sandals (to keep the IS fighters going), garlic and cube sugar for the Russians and wheel chairs for the Chinese to bring their old and dilapidated to the front while their deep seek is destroying the hyperexpensive AI systems of our oligarchs.

But yes, all the warriors will need cheap drones, plenty of caskets and plenty of ammunition and cheap landmines to help filling the caskets.
