True - and I would whole heartedly join the chorus condemning Iran ... however - as long as Israel is leading the quire, if feels like the kettle calling the pot black :p ;

Iran needs to be flattened to do the whole world a favour, they are an ever present threat to multiple countries and their ideologies are pure evil. Unfortunately there would be vast innocent casualties with said flattening.

The world seems to think that it's all over in the Israel v Iran spat. Maybe not. Sending a few drones to be shot down surely isn't a final response from Israel. All they've done is to test the water, they now have a good idea of response times, reactions, radar positions, bandwidths, communications and an awful lot more. More to come? From a military point of view, you well might be right.
From a political point of view I suppose the jury is still out.
From a humanitarian point of view it certainly would be undesirable if you are right, and
from a historical point of view we well might talk about the straw which ended the phase between world wars, which is good for the arms industry, but not very good for anybody else!

Just think about the possible end game. The most likely scenarios I can see if Israel is attacking Iran in earnest are either

• significantly increased terror all over the globe (and this won't go away anytime soon)
• another failed state in a strategic important position with militias attacking each other and anybody around (a la Sudan and Yemen)
• the end of the current racist alt right wing Israeli regime (which might not be the worst outcome I could think about)
• the end of the state of Israel (which would be undesirable)

Whatever it is - how would you see the region finding peace? Have a look into the bible (a quite interesting historical book): People in this region are killing each other with gods help on a regular basis over the last 4 millennia or so. Why would anybody think that the recipe which never ever worked before should now be a good remedy?

Not quite - if you think that bible is off topic in a war thread, than I do recommend you read it in its entirety ;

Particularly pertinent are the passages where god commands his "children" to kill whoever was in their way to steal the so called promised land from the natives (slaughter the Canaanites). Have a good read of the early books of Moses, but as well Joshua and Samuel (kill the Amalekites), but I am sure, there are more references to god wishing the Jews to commit genocide with whoever might be inconvenient.

Pretty grisly books - and humans haven't changed a bit since then ... and while I am not sure, whether the practice of genocide has been invented by the people who wrote the bible, but they clearly supported it.

So, yes, lets not turn this into a discussion around the bible, but it is clearly on topic related to any things war.
