Nice bump for URA etf.  I figure this is on the back of the news out of the land of Nippon?

Anybody else of a mind that this commodity sees bad press from the "virtuous", but tail winds from real energy needs?

Just hope its not getting hotter ... apparantly they need to shut down nuclear reactors when its hot (like currently in France and China). These beasts need cold enough water to run ...

Sort of self-defeating, isn't it?

well, the ride up is nice, cashing out partially

I'm not aware of any sentiment in favour apart from the fake inflation numbers starting to wear our their effect

There's a UK company called Yellowcake (YCA). Can't remember where I came across it. They buy and hold uranium, a bit like the Swiss ZKB metal ETFs.

"Yellow Cake Plc operates in the uranium sector, which engages in purchase and hold of U3O8. The firm focuses on offering shareholders exposure to the uranium price through the purchase and storage of physical uranium. It also involves in exploiting a range of expected opportunities connected with owning physical U3O8 and uranium based financial initiatives, such as commodity streaming, and royalties. The company was founded on January 18, 2018 and is headquartered in St. Helier, the United Kingdom.  "

Nuclear power has got to catch a bid at some point in the next 10 years when they realise they cant get to net what ever in time to save the planet.

No doubt - nuclear power would have huge benefits for the climate. Allow for another  handful of Chernobyl, Fukushima, Kysthym (Russia, 1957) and Sellafield type of accidents ... and nuclear energy even could help to reduce the human population. Latter clearly would bring the carbon emissions down.

Good as well, that most of the cancer cases won't have any legal regress - dying from readioactive radiation is like dying from smoking, hard to prove the ultimate cause of the cancer.

True. Maybe you should say when and if, though. I remember that they called fusion reactors the energy source of the future when I was still at school - and hey, they still are :) ;

That's a lot of uranium and cynicism to have on one's breath.

I am glad you noticed the cynicism :) ; Hard to convey over the internet. Sometimes it is the only thing which keeps me going if I see proposed remedies whose sideeffects are likely worse than the desease they are supposed to cure ...

West will need to ram up power production in the light of china bringing 2 coals a week...

nuclear is where they will have to look surely as bad as that is.. or they will not have the power ro produce weapons?

or they will wait till they need the weapons for world war 3 ... and hope something saves them..
