Indeed!

Quote from: BlackPeter on Oct 18, 2026, 05:14 PMShall we call this Spark 2? Spark peaked at 5.40 and dropped to something like 1.90, .....

What does this mean for IFT? IFT peaked at nearly $16. If it follows the same path (as SPK???)  it might go down to $6?

( Note - My brackets in BP's quote above.)

I see BP still insists on the validity of his alarmist comparison between IFT and SPK

If BP zoomed out of his short term TA posted above and  took in a longer 10yr TA view,  then IFT's continued trend line outshines SPK considerably,  as the chart below highlights.

The 10 yr view also highlights why the current IFT share price 'blip' is much less of a concern to long term investors whose holding av SP is considerably lower than today's SP.

In addition, BP  seems to forget that IFT's One NZ investment which competes with SPK represents only 15% of IFT's asset base.

IFT has 50% of its asset base in data centres which have no comparision to SPK.

IFT  has 19% of its asset base in renewable energy which again has no comparision to SPK.

And of course the total sum of IFT's investments and its international potential has absolutely no comparison to SPK's NZ centric business.

Nice chart and commentary there LF.

TA has its uses for timing of decisions but the actual decision to buy and sell has to be based on research and instinct. Otherwise we'd all be constantly buying and selling like traders. Which most of us aren't, including BP I suspect.
I doubt that Buffett spent much time look at what the direction the worm was turning...

daily chart is ugly for sure but the weekly chart is showing support at the 200dma,
will have to see if holds there, it has in the past.  earning Nov 18th.  I am long term holder in my Kiwisaver.

Citi still bullish, although i don't trust analysts,  I think sell when they say buy and buy when they say sell.

Infratil's bull at Citi looks past headwinds buffeting the valuation of its CDC data-center business recently. Infratil said the latest valuation of CDC was A$18.5 billion, down 0.4% from end-June. It cited the effects of a material rise in the forward yield curve, resulting in higher assumed interest costs. "While elevated interest rates represent a clear macro headwind to valuation multiples, CDC's underlying operational momentum remains robust," analyst Suraj Nebhani says. Infratil's share price has trended lower since its July high, down some 14%. It means the stock trades at a more than 30% discount to net asset value, which Citi finds attractive. "Supported by ongoing CDC de-risking and Longroad's energy and data center pipeline execution, we see compelling risk-reward and reiterate our 'buy' rating," Citi says. My view is price is just becoming more volatile in line with narrative projection around data centers and AI (SI) buildout. Suggested buy line at $11.75 at next time cycle peak.
