The market sent a big message out in the days following Arvida's pretty good full year result .... pushing the ARV share price down 12% over a few days

The message was plain and simple - the retirement sector is stuffed - its had it years of good times and now its going to have years of not so good times

Always pays to listen to market messages - especially emphatic ones

Depends if you want to listen to the reef fish market or the big fish market (Your looking at a classic reef fish market today, look at that pathetic volume in OCA)

Sector still in the doldrums but the long term trend of the more highly rated SUM outperforming OCA remains intact ......even if outperform means not being down as much

One good thing about this is when OCA gets to $2 SUM will probably be $30You cannot view this attachment.

Excellent post, thank you for your work on this.  Trends exist for profoundly good reasons.  I'd rather bet with the trend than against it.

Trends exist simply because of the ever changing fickleness of human nature, nothing more, nothing less.

Ahhh I remember the days of "you can't have enough," and "back up the truck."

Seems nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Agree with you there kasper  ..... but whatever the fickleness of human nature that has caused the trend it's pretty well entrenched ..... and trends generally don't change until they are 'shocked' into doing so .... wonder what that shock is that will change that fickleness ..... probably not Brent's stories or even inflection points.

Well obviously the CEO and board can't have too many cause they keep loading up the truck, they must still all firmly believe in nostalgia or maybe they actually believe in the company.

Summerset June quarter sales took a dive v last year

Brent said Oceania sales were up (same quarter)

Well done Oceania

For those who care about growing profits that's good news

Benji

I think Summerset better than expected by gloomy posters.
Oceania OK buy.

Oceania hadn't completed the quarter when he made that statement.

Either way, looking forward to what the half-year shows.

OCA up 3% today .... that's pretty good

Maybe the start of a decent uptrend ..... first stop a return to 100 and then onwards and upwards
