Obviously its not just earnings that have been deeply disappointing.

Yes pretty disappointing but the reality is any system that involves humans can and will fail at some point in time. Just a shame it cost someone their life, hopefully new procedures were put in place to avoid a repeat.

At least OCA admitted failures. Hopefully they have better procedures to stop this happening going forward.

Their care standards are right up there and you are conveniently overlooking the fact that it was staff members not following company policy in this case that caused the reported situation, the company does not have complete control over an individual staff members accountability at all times.

That's a damming indictment on the caliber of their staff and / or their systems.
One thing for one person to make a mistake but AT LEAST 3 out of 4 qualified nurses ?  WOW !!!!  "Oceania has implemented changes at the rest home".  This proves that their original systems were NOT of an acceptable standard.   This lady died because OCA's system's were second rate and their staff were third rate.  Just accept it for what it is, a death caused by gross carelessness and inadequate systems.  Its a big black mark on their reputation in my opinion.
If it happened in America they'd be sued for tens of millions for this.

Can potentially happen at any facility but in this case the culture of this particular facility would need to be questioned although this happened 4 yrs ago so is historical, the company systems cannot be blamed for individual incompetence or a rogue manager for that matter.

Yes fair enough comment about potential for human factors but just drilling down a bit more into care systems and procedures what I find interesting is last time I looked into this I believe Arvida has a considerably higher proportion of its care facilities on the "Gold Standard" 4 year Ministry of health audit cycle than Oceania.  You claim, or certainly imply Oceania is the best in class so given your knowledge of the sector how do you explain that the independent Ministry of Health auditors are more comfortable with the care standards and procedures of Arvida's facilities ?

Is this a systems issue for OCA or a staff and compliance issue ?
Disc: I should disclose I now have a moderate position in OCA's bonds.  Govt funding ensures they should be able to service their debt okay.
