Our family's Kiwi saver accounts are all with Fisher Funds growth. Have received the yearly performance report and see even with the government and voluntary contributions from me they lost money YEM23 (-4 %). High fees and poor return.

When I compare growth funds with others over the last few years I'm wondering if it's time to switch.

I have been onto the FMA website to compare. What's a good site to compare returns and fees that you use?

Try sorted.org.nz for comparison. I'm with Milford Growth...Growth word been a bit of a misnomer but their reporting and coms are excellent and you can see they have been pretty defensively positioned carrying way more cash than normal against fund benchmark

On sorted site click on tools then smart investor function.

Came across the latest qtrly KiwiSaver performance report shareguy.
This gives you a good overview of performance over last few months out to 10 yrs and lists fees.

I gave Fisher the boot when they went virtuous.  Told them so.  They said they didn't care, so I guess that meant they are happy to lose money to look green.

Thanks for posting this. Fishers have done ok in 3 months to March. They have also announced getting rid of performance fees. Will review end of this year.

Fisher Funds performance has been poor compared to many others so I have finally transferred our family accounts to Milford's active growth fund. Very easy to do in just a few minutes. Should of done this long ago.

interestingly, my wife's Kiwisaver is Balanced at ASB, and delivered a top tier annual performance for the FY26 financial year,  +10.1% after fees. ASB KS is now managed by Blackrock and seems to have really stepped up its performance. It beat the pants off our DIMS acc at Craigs.

I'm becoming quite cynical about the merits of the big brokers compared to just putting most of your money into a few ETF's or index funds like Simplicity. The Craigs and JB Were's etc are slow and clunky, stuck with legacy IT systems (compared to say the impressive Sharesies site) and they spend bucketloads of clients money on excessive research of little practical use to retail clients.

Interested to hear others thoughts.

IMO the best KS for long term returns is InvestNow Foundation Series TWF.  Buy the entire world at the cheapest cost and leave it for as long as possible.
