An example of how the current situation is affecting NZ the forestry industry.

Logs are exported by ship.  A portion of those logs are put on ships that come to NZ full of fertilizer - they come thru the straight of Hormuz to NZ where they unload the fert and fill up with logs destined for India.  So those ships are drying up.  Logs are still exported to China - but prices will drop without an Indian market.  Also the rise in fuel price makes shipping those logs more expensive.  This is really hard on South Island companies as the distance is farther.  So there are increased costs for harvesting, log cartage and the export ships.
Some people will say yah! forestry is hurting but there is a big spin off effect on the community.
