Taking a look at this one.

Electro Optic Systems Holdings Limited (ASX: EOS) is an Australian aerospace and defence technology company that designs, manufactures, and exports advanced electro-optic systems.75

Company Overview
Founded: 1983

Headquarters: Symonston, ACT (near Canberra), Australia

Ticker: EOS.AX (Australian Securities Exchange)

Employees: Approximately 436

Website: eos-aus.com

CEO/Managing Director: Dr. Andreas Schwer

Sector: Industrials — Aerospace & Defense

EOS focuses on high-technology products for military and space applications, with a growing emphasis on directed-energy (laser) weapons and counter-drone (C-UAS) systems amid rising global defence spending and drone threats.

Business Segments
It operates through two main segments:

1. Defence Systems (the larger and faster-growing part)

Remote weapon systems and vehicle turrets

High-energy laser weapons (directed energy systems) — EOS has commercialized and signed export contracts for systems including 100 kW-class lasers

Counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS / anti-drone solutions), including interceptors and layered defence

Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and C4 systems

Fire control, force protection, UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) and marine lethality systems

2. Space Systems

Optical sensors and effectors for space domain awareness

Satellite laser ranging and tracking

Space control and sustainability capabilities

Telescopes, dome enclosures, and precision optics

Ground-based systems for detecting, tracking, and characterizing objects in space

The company has operations and customers across Australia, the United States, Singapore, the UAE, Europe, New Zealand, and elsewhere. It recently opened a production centre in Singapore as an Asian hub for high-energy anti-drone lasers.

Recent Financial Snapshot (as of mid-to-late 2026 data)
Market capitalisation: Roughly AUD 2.0–2.1 billion

Share price: Recently trading around AUD 9.3–9.5 (52-week range approximately AUD 4.27–12.58)

1H 2026 (half-year to 30 June 2026):

Revenue from continuing operations: AUD 168.8 million (up ~283% year-on-year)

Underlying EBITDA: AUD 21.6 million (turned positive from a prior-period loss)

Statutory result still showed a net loss (impacted by acquisition-related items)

Strong order book growth: Unconditional order book reached ~AUD 846 million by mid-2026 (significant increase)

Solid cash position (hundreds of millions AUD, boosted by capital raises and funding facilities)

FY2026 revenue guidance has been raised, reflecting both organic growth and the acquisition of the MARSS interceptor business

The company has historically been loss-making in some periods while investing in growth and technology, but recent results show strong top-line expansion and improving underlying profitability driven by defence demand.

Key Themes and Outlook
EOS benefits from elevated global defence budgets, conflicts highlighting drone threats, and interest in directed-energy weapons. It positions itself as a specialist in precision electro-optics, remote weapons, high-energy lasers, and integrated counter-drone solutions rather than a broad traditional defence prime. Recent moves include geographic expansion (e.g., Singapore facility), acquisitions to bolster C-UAS capabilities, and building a substantial multi-year order book.

Risks include typical defence-sector factors: contract timing and execution, supply-chain issues, competition, geopolitical shifts, and the capital-intensive nature of advanced technology development. The stock can be volatile (relatively high beta).

In short, EOS.AX is a mid-cap Australian pure-play defence/space technology company with meaningful exposure to remote weapon systems, high-energy lasers, and counter-drone solutions, currently experiencing strong order growth and revenue acceleration. For the latest figures, check the company's investor announcements or ASX filings, as results and guidance can update frequently.

I was looking at this one too but couldn't continue after I saw the insider trading activity in the last 12 months. Buying in would be suggesting I know better than they do, which seems unlikely  ;D
