Post by: Shareguy on Jun 24, 2022, 03:32 PM
I have taken a position in EML on the ASX.  Anyone else holding or looking at it?

They do not make profit?

I like companies that make proper profit.

You could perhaps put the company name next to the ticker. Save us lazy folks from having to look it up.

EmL payments is the company.  High risk, high reward stock is how I see it. Benefiting from world increases in cash rates. Will hopefully re rate once the Irish issues sorted.

Well it certainly rerated  :-\
I've learnt from experience (BIG, ISX) that Buffet was correct when he said "there is never just one cockroach in the kitchen".  If you see a cockroach, sell it.

I like your analogy KW. You might well be right it's certainly been a train wreck. The sudden departure of long-term CEO and managing director Tom Cregan being the latest cockroach in the kitchen.

I have built up a reasonable position now, it's up 30% from last month. The latest interest-rate rise from the ECB (.50) is going to add $4 million Ebit.

A stock not for the faint hearted in my opinion.  I'm hoping the worst is behind us and that all the cockroaches are well and truly dead.

Well, turns out there were a lot of cockroaches, and they just keep coming.

Yep. It feels more like a dead rat.

This is my worst stock in the portfolio.  Well up on 52 Week low of $.42. Looks like things are coming right finally.  Still in the red but green not far off.

Should have sold out when the first cockroach appeared and then continued to buy which was another mistake, although doubling again has saved the day.

Its really a question of whether all the cockroaches have been exterminated or not.  Also, this company benefits from high interest rates (as they sit on unspent customer gift card credit) so upcoming interest rate cuts will reduce their income.
